Eleanor is a qualified physiotherapist from Ireland. In Melbourne sine April 2017, she brings with her years of clinical experience. Through Pilates, Eleanor has found the perfect way to couple her professional background with her passion for physical and mental well-being.
Eleanor has a very keen interest in general fitness, injury prevention and rehabilitation. She completed a Higher Certificate in Physiology and Health Science in 2008, and graduated with a BSc. (Hons) in Physiotherapy from the University of Ulster in 2011. She has experience in the areas of Musculoskeletal, Neurology, Orthopaedics, and Emergency Medicine and has also worked with various sports teams throughout her career.
Eleanor believes that the Pilates principles of length, strength and control are key to achieving and maintaining a healthy body. Clinically, Eleanor has found that Pilates has a profoundly positive effect on injury prevention, recovery and overall postural awareness.
In every class, Eleanor places a strong focus on optimal body alignment, breathing control and quality of movement. Her aim is to challenge your strength, while maintaining control. She loves to get to know clients, to help create a class that is tailored to your needs as much as possible.
When not teaching, Eleanor practices Pilates and loves the variety of movement and challenge that Pilates reformer allows. She also enjoys Yoga and finds that these two forms of exercise really compliment each other.
