She commenced her management and leadership career over fifteen years ago in the beauty retail sector where she managed teams of up to 20 employees and generated a turnover in excess of $3.8 million for worldwide cosmetic brand Estee Lauder.
Koula made the transition to the health and fitness industry in 2006 when she joined Sydney’s Elixr Health Clubs as a Club Manager for two locations. In 2008, Ruggeri moved to the national female only health club chain as Business Development Manager, but returned to Elixr a year later as she missed the values of the club, members and team.
Koula has always been an advocate of healthy and active living and combined her passion for the fitness industry with her skills in management and leadership to find her niche in the industry. Today, she has teamed up with her business partner and husband Christian Ruggeri to open Kaya Health Clubs in Melbourne, the city’s first mind and body health service.
Koula thrives on empowering her teams with a strong skill set and plays a pivotal role at Kaya in training and managing staff, as well as focusing on membership experience and satisfaction.
