When you come along to your first boxing class with KĀYA, it’s a good idea to arrive a little early so you can let your instructor know that it’s your first time – that way they’ll be able to give you a few pointers before you get into it. All you need to bring along is your own boxing glove inners to each session and these can easily be purchased from reception. Other than that, bring along a drink bottle (you’ll need it!) and comfortable clothes. Don’t worry, your instructor will keep an eye on you during your first few sessions to make sure you nail your technique.
To fully support you in participating in boxing safely and confidently, KĀYA have designed a free boxing techniques workshop for members which will teach you the knowledge and skills you need to perfect your boxing skills. When you come along to the workshop, you’ll learn about correct technique for punches, stances, head positioning and movement. You’ll also get acquainted with pad work so you’ll be able to join in from your very first class.
