Our Yoga teachers live and breathe Yoga, with many having spent time living and practicing in India, Bali and Thailand. Our teachers tailor each Yoga experience to suit the needs and physical capacity for all body types and skill levels.

We offer a variety of styles for the mind calming and body energising practice.

Each approach caters for beginners, intermediates and advanced students.

While the philosophy behind this ancient practice of yoga is vast and complex, the benefits of Yoga include:

  • Increasing awareness of your thought processes

  • Becoming more present in your body (embodied)

  • Becoming more aware of your breathing

  • Paying attention to yourself for a concerted period of time

People practice yoga for many reasons. These include (but not limited to):

Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga is the ‘mother’ of all Yoga, focusing on your physical and emotional wellbeing. Various movements are incorporated, from static to more dynamic and free flowing poses.

  • A slower moving class that focuses on fewer and more static postures.

  • This is an excellent class in which to begin your yoga practice, as you are able to familiarise yourself with key postures more slowly.

  • The class may incorporate floor postures to increase flexibility in the lower body, particularly hips and hamstrings, rather than working on more advanced postures.

  • Props are more likely to be used.

  • The English term for each posture will be preference.

Suitable for all levels.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa Yoga is fast paced and asanas are linked together in a series of movements that are synchronised with the breath. The continual movements provide added cardiovascular benefit.

  • This style incorporates increased cardiovascular energy due to a faster passed flow between postures, and the number of postures approached.

  • This class is more suited to students with some previous yoga experience.

  • Props are less likely to be used.

  • Props are more likely to be used.

  • This style of yoga, derived from the Ashtanga Vinyasa system, is sometimes referred to as flow / power / power flow yoga.

  • Both Sanskrit and English terms for each posture will be used.

Suitability: previous experience preferred.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of Yoga. Yin generally targets the connective tissues of the body, finding length while relaxing the muscles on a deeper internal level.

  • The practice positively affects the para-sympathetic nervous system which will help your body and mind to relax.

  • You will hold postures, generally performed on the floor, for a longer period of time so that the connective tissue in our bodies can be gently stretched.

  • This class is perfect for members who feel tight in their bodies, particularly if they have been undertaking an increased amount of cardio or strength based training. This class is often used as a complement to training regimes and will help improve flexibility and mobility.

  • Restoration of the body is imperative for injury protection and Yin class offers this benefit.

  • The English term for each posture will be preference.

Yoga with Meditation

Yoga ending with a 20 minute Guided meditation.

  • A 60 minute Yoga class- The style of Yoga is included on the timetable

  • Followed by a form of meditation where students are verbally guided into a state of consciousness by the teachers voice.

  • This process and practice of meditation requires an individual to follow verbal instructions that teach the individual how to relax the entire body, clear the mind, concentrate on breathing, and focus one’s awareness and attention

Yoga Nidra

Yin Yoga which concludes with NIDRA

  • A 60 minute Yin class followed by 20 minutes of Nidra

  • A deep relaxation practice which quietens the Mind of releases the Physical tension in one’s body

  • This practice will leave members feeling Relaxed and Rejuvenated

  • This process and practice of Nidra requires an individual to follow verbal instructions that teach you how to relax, to follow verbal instructions that teach the individual how to relax the entire body, clear the mind, concentrate of breathing, and focus one’s awareness and attention

Suitable for all levels.
