KĀYA in Buddhism refers to the physical and mental body.
KĀYA in Japanese is translated as place of rest and relaxation:
a home.

Enhance your physical and mental well-being, at KĀYA Health Clubs.

Our Specialties

We specialise in Pilates Mat and Reformer, Yoga, Barre, and Fitness.

At KĀYA, our Pilates is based on the constantly-evolving principles of exercise science. Our dedicated instructors are expertly trained through Elixr School of Pilates, and are passionate about sharing their knowledge and expertise in our dedicated Reformer studios and Mat studios.

Our Yoga teachers are all committed to their discipline, with each having travelled their own yoga journey before finding their resting place at KĀYA. Here, our teachers will guide you through Yoga as they see it; as a way of life. You will not just participate in a class; you will be immersed in an experience, with styles including Hatha, Yin, Vinyasa, and Meditation, to bring stillness into your day.

KĀYA also offers a variety of energising and holistic fitness classes, from Boxing and BoxFit to Spinning and Barre, to offer an invigorating and functional exercise for your entire body. Our state-of-the-art cardio and weights zones are available for use, with guidance and instruction from the team always available.

Our valued Core and Dual members also receive a customised fitness programme, suited to their needs and abilities, and access to our Introductory Yoga and Pilates courses. These courses are complementary and provide our members with a strong foundation of confidence and knowledge before they embark on their new fitness journey.

The Founders

KĀYA is a family business; Husband and wife, Christian and Koula Ruggeri, form the leaderships roles with 18 years of combined experience the health and wellness industry.

This passion for health has helped them to create the space which they offer today – with their intimate understanding of the search for wellbeing, KĀYA has become a sanctuary for many like-minded people to escape to. Before opening KĀYA, they worked closely for seven years as Executive Managers at Elixr Health Clubs, Australia’s leading Mind and Body Health Clubs in Sydney. The natural path for them was to establish their own space for others to retreat to, with our original Prahran location opening in 2013, and opening Emporium Melbourne in 2015. Today, KĀYA emerges for its members to provide stillness, health, and a supportive community.

You’ll regularly see Christian and Koula at the club, connecting with members and team members, and ensuring:

  • The friendly, passionate, and caring staff are greeting members with attentive service.

  • The entire team shares a passion for health and fitness.

  • The environment is welcoming, tidy, and ambient.

  • The class schedules and principles are at the forefront of exercise science.

  • The dedicated team of teachers, instructors, and educators are amongst the finest in Australia.

Koula Ruggeri

“Our members are not just people walking through our doors – they are the soul of the club and we want them to make it their home.”

Christian Ruggeri

“Every decision that’s made, we do with our members’ best interests in mind.”
