Jessica Ward

Yoga

Hi. I’m Jess. I love my personal practice and want my students to feel the same way. I try to encourage a free-spirited, fun and non-serious space and welcome anyone to try! Yoga: a beautiful way of life both for the mind and body, and so complimentary to those who do a lot of sports/ running (I am a keen long-distance runner) as it allows for strength, flexibility, mobility and mental clarity.
As well as yoga asana (the physical postures), I am a big believer in practicing what you preach and living ‘yoga off the mat’ too, applying our yoga philosophies in our everyday lives. In particular, I strongly align with the value of Ahimsa, non-violence: extending our compassion to all beings.
I became a yoga teacher in Edinburgh, after I graduated as a Zoologist from the same city, hence my compassion for mother nature and all whom we share this planet with. Since, I have taught whale and ocean themed yoga in Iceland where I lived as a conservationist, hot yoga in my home city London, and now here, in Melbourne. I am qualified as an advanced vinyasa and hatha teacher, with a great interest in the ancient roots and slower forms including yin and meditation. I feel grateful for my practice and teaching around the world so far and for all of the truly wonderful students I have been able to connect with though this deeply dimensional practice. Hope to see you!
