A Man Taking A Pilates Reformer Teaching Class At Kaya Health Clubs

Now that the New Year is upon us, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what you want to achieve during 2018. If you enjoy Pilates and are looking to take it to the next level, setting some goals around getting some training to become a Pilates teacher could be the perfect New Year resolution. If you’ve decided that now is the time to focus on doing what you love, let’s take a look at what you need to do to get started with your Pilates teacher training.

    Set clear goals right away

The New Year is the perfect time to pursue new ventures – your motivation is generally high and you have the whole year ahead of you to achieve your goal. Take advantage of this momentum by doing some goal setting around your resolution to begin Pilates instructor training. As with any New Year resolution, make sure your goals are specific. Writing down that you want to be a Pilates teacher isn’t enough – think about how soon you want to get started, how long it will take you to complete and how you’re going to fit your courses around your current commitments. Having clear goals will keep you focused during your exciting new journey.

Think about what you want to achieve

If you’re ready to pursue a career as a Pilates teacher, think about what you ultimately want to achieve once you’re finished with your training. Do you want to leave your current employment and pursue full time employment as an instructor? Do you want to teach classes after hours at a studio to supplement your income? Do you simply want to learn more about Pilates for now with the intention of transitioning into teaching in a few years? Considering the end result once you’ve finished your training will give you direction and help you plan for the future.

    Look into some courses

Once you’re ready to follow through on your resolution to pursue Pilates teacher training, it’s time to look into some courses. There are a lot of courses available on the market for would-be Pilates instructors and it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Focus on courses which are accredited by reputable fitness bodies and include a decent amount of hands on training so you’re confident when you begin teaching others.

At KĀYA Health Clubs, we give you the opportunity to explore your Pilates practice further with our Pilates teacher training courses. Our courses are run through the Elixr School of Pilates which is recognised as Australia’s leading provider of Pilates training. Our dynamic courses are nationally endorsed by the Fitness Institute of Australia and our teachers are committed to sharing the latest science research as well as traditional Pilates methods. If you’re ready to share your love of Pilates with others, get started with one of our courses starting on 21st April 2018.
