Kaya offers Pilates Teacher Training courses so you can develop the skills and knowledge you need to become a Pilates Instructor.
Whether you’re looking to become a Pilates teacher yourself or simply want to develop your knowledge for your own practice, we offer high quality, authentic Pilates courses which are hosted and accredited through the Elixr School of Pilates (ESOP). The Elixr School of Pilates is one of Australia’s leading providers of Pilates training and their courses are nationally endorsed by the Fitness Institute of Australia. Our courses are open to our members and the general public.
Through our accredited ESOP Reformer Pilates training course, you’ll develop the skills and knowledge required to start teaching your own reformer classes as you learn how to cater for first-time and more experienced students. This course will give you an in-depth perspective on each exercise so you’re able to provide the correct modifications to both groups and individuals. Your experienced and passionate Teacher Trainers will show you how to develop effective and motivating lessons for your future students and you’ll have the opportunity to observe and co-teach Pilates reformer classes to further develop your skills.
ESOP is firmly based on industry-leading exercise science principles and is nationally endorsed by the Fitness Institute of Australia and certified by Fitness Australia. All KAYA instructors are accredited through ESOP education courses for their commitment to the latest exercise science research, whilst still adhering to the cherished traditional fundamentals of Pilates.
You will be taught in an intimate environment and guided by one of our most experienced and knowledgeable Reformer Pilates Instructors and Teacher Trainers Jose Garcia.
José Garcia is currently studying a Bachelor of Exercise Science and has over 20 years experience coaching and training human movement, his passion for Pilates started when he experienced how the Pilates method was able to assist him with his rehabilitation after a back surgery. Jose has been leading Pilates educational workshops and mentoring other Pilates instructors for the past eight years.
To be mentored by our senior Instructors with the intention of becoming a Kaya Reformer Pilates Instructor.
This course will provide you with the fundamentals of Elixr School of Pilates. It is the prerequisite to undertaking the reformer Pilates teacher training course.

The Reformer Course will prepare you to teach beginner – advanced Reformer exercises. The course covers the benefit, target muscles, precaution and modification of each exercise. Each exercise is analysed in detail to gain an understanding of its biomechanics and focus. Upon completion of the course, you will have the tools to design a program and teach from beginner to advanced levels.

Here is where the fun beings. Students will be required to attend and participate in classes (Kaya provides students with an 8 Week membership). Student will also need to observe Certified Kaya Pilates Reformer instructors teaching classes. We find this an integral part of the learning process. These prior steps will provide students with the confidence and knowledge they need to be ready to ‘Co-teach’. Student will co-teach classes with a Certified Kaya Pilates Reformer instructor.

– 10 hours Co Teaching
We recommend students undertake the exam at least six (6) month post course. We find this time allows for sufficient post course learning and practice. Kaya generally facilitates exams twice a year (generally every 6mths).
