    March April Newsletter 2020

    A message from Christian…

    TIME IS PRECIOUS

The majority of us live in a world where we’re dominated by time, regulated by routine and more often than not find ourselves using
statements like ‘I’m so busy,’ ‘I’m swamped,’ ‘I have so much on,’ – we’re all guilty of it. Imagine pushing pause on the fast forward button and actually taking the time to do the things that make you, and the important people that support and surround you, happy Spending quality time with the ones we love is critical to our overall wellbeing, and more importantly theirs. When we get caught up in the pressures of everyday life and consumed by insignificant events that we sometimes deem as ‘life essentials,’ we forget what’s most important – the simple things; sharing life lessons, experiences, thoughts and teaching one another new things.

Giving ourselves time and making ourselves vulnerable can be confronting but in the long run builds character and strengthens who we are. Over the coming month I encourage you to take time; spend it with the people you truly care for or haven’t been able to see much of and make them feel loved. Salvage old relationships, tell people how you feel, listen to how others feel and look at things from a different perspective – concentrate on the simple things – because time really is precious.

    BELIEF
Noun: To have trust, faith, or confidence in someone or something

I’m a firm believer in setting yourself life goals. Goals trigger actionable behaviour and motivate us; they guide our focus – taking us on a journey of self-discovery and believe it or not – achieving our goals is addictive because of the dopamine released in our brains after we accomplish something rewarding. Persistence is a core value that I stand by; to continue with something that presents difficulty and opposition poses an easy option for us humans to simply give up – don’t give up.

Recently I found myself in a situation where I was trying to accomplish my next life goal, a business orientated one; to find our next location for our third club. I had to play a mental game with myself and be patient, and after months of conversations I finally got the answer I believed I’d get, a yes! I accomplished my goal, the dopamine was set free, and now I’m focused on the what next. The addiction is real. In our coming issues I’ll reveal our new location, the opening date and more exciting news about the future of KAYA.

Self-negotiation, the primary skill to freeing time and unlocking the ability to believe.

Many things in life are determined by the power of your capability to negotiate, both with yourself and with others. I feel the art of negotiation is ensuring the outcome is beneficial and fair to both parties and results in a win-win for everyone.

We negotiate with ourselves and others hundreds of times a day it’s an ability that we develop from the minute we enter this world. It’s sometimes disguised as the ‘norm’ because we’re so familiar with the sequence and at times before we even start the process, we’re already accustomed to what the outcome will be.

Knowing your limits when negotiating is essential, if you really want it, negotiate for it, don’t let something go that you’ll regret losing in the future. That something might be time, it might be the next location for your business, or it might be something as simple as what you and your partner are cooking for dinner. The point is, if it’s important to you then make sure you get it, you do it and you live it.

Until next time or when I see you around the club.

Demi fell in love with yoga when she travelled to India when she was 20 years old. She loved the feeling of bliss she experienced both during and after class, and how that feeling would stay with her throughout her day. They help us understand. They imprint a picture in our minds. This led her to her job as a Content Writer. She loves helping businesses tell stories. Especially when the stories involve educating readers on the endless benefits of yoga and Pilates- two of her most loved fitness regimes
